Abdullah’s Obscure Health Issue Essay ;)

A disregarded Health Issue

The obsession of being one hundred percent healthy has always been a great concern for specialists and normal people. We always tend to make healthier choices when it comes to food, the way of living, everyday activities and many different factors. One of the most common and essential concern is kidney stones. This kind of health case is not really clear and their symptoms might occur late usually, causing an abdominal intermittent pain  and little burn when passing urine. The reasons behind this health case could be explained briefly in this essay.

First, dehydration. As medical scientists say, the human body needs about two and a half to three litters of water everyday, and this would keep the body fresh and hydrated. So, the lack of water sufficiency might result in having little stones stuck in the kidney’s wall as a reaction for dehydration. Some doctors say that drinking other liquids such as juice or tea does not count with the daily need of water for our bodies, but others say as long as these liquids consist of  seventy percent of water, they would do the same as water does.

Second, drinking liquids that have great amounts of Caffeine. According to the American health association, having too much caffeine everyday causes dehydration for the kidney itself, and this is due to the chemical and biological components of caffeine that absorb liquids out of the kidney. In addition, when the kidneys start to filter liquids that we drink everyday, caffeine makes it difficult for them to filter all amounts of liquids we have been drinking during the day. As a result, the kidney loses around twenty percent of its normal energy that leads to the same reaction mentioned in the first paragraph.

Third, drinking too much alcohol. Some people might think that drinking alcohol is useful for flushing their kidneys, well, it might be useful but if we do not drink it on a regular bases. Unlike caffeine, alcohol makes the kidneys exert more effort than they should. As a consequence, kidneys become exerting the same energy that they exert to filter alcohol, but with all liquids including water. Eventually, this leads us to the same problem of dehydration due to the extra filtering activity the kidneys are doing, not to mention other side effects of having great amount of alcohol.

In conclusion, kidney stones are considered a reaction of an inconvenient health behavior which is not giving the kidneys the regular amount of water they need. Also, caffeine may be an obstacle to the process of filtering liquids and absorbs water from kidneys. And finally, drinking too much alcohol makes kidneys work more than they should which is considered biological inconvenience.

In my opinion, kidneys are sensitive organs that do an unbelievable work and they can get negatively affected by our behaviors, so all I can say is our Kidneys are our Lives, we must take good care of them.

Abdullah’s Personality Comparison/Contrast :)

Compare/Contrast Essay.

Similarities and Differences in Characters

When we talk about characters of people, in TV or real life, we often mention what comes into our minds that make those people special in a different way. Everyone has specific characteristics distinguishing him/her from others. For example, peacefulness vs wildness, sentimentality vs cold blooded, powerfulness vs weakness, …etc. If we take some TV characters and compare them, we might find things that are contradictory with how we picture those people normally. Let’s take the character of Jack Sparrow and the police chief going after Jack as two examples to compare their personalities and characteristics.

First, good person vs bad person. After watching that movie ‘ Pirate of the Caribbean’’, we might notice that Jack was playing the role of the pirate and this character is usually known as being the dangerous person that represent evil and perversity. Even though, this character seemed to be lovable in that movie. Here comes the contradiction in picturing Jack in our minds as audience. On the other hand, the character of the police chief, normally known of being great person that fights evil, did not grab that much of our attention or seem as likeable as Jack. This conflict indicates that every person has got something special other than what he seems to be like.

Second, the sense of aggressiveness. Even though Jack was the pirate, but he did not have that kind of abhorable and criminal personality. He did not aim to kill anyone, neither hurt the policeman who was hunting him down. He seemed to be a respectful negative person who did not want to make troubles or hurt innocent people. Unlike the policeman who represented justice in an undesirable way that made us think about him being dislikeable. He was eager to catch Jack and execute him, and that what turned him to be an evil to us. So, we some sort of mental conflict that forces us to accept him as a good man, and convinces us that he is a bad person at the same time.

Third, cleverness and sense of humor. The pirate Jack had a great deal of intelligence and sense of humor that made him a lovable character to us. In many different scenes, we have seen how he perfectly planned to escape from prison and police in an unexpected ways. Furthermore, he was funny in most of his scenes and he did not give us a chance to change our attitudes and think that he was still the bad man. In contrast, the police officer came across to be serious person, aggressive and did not have that much of cleverness. In addition, he was the man who tried to arrest our hero pirate and kill him, and this idea has become unacceptable.

In conclusion, these two different characters have shown us how good people and bad people differ in terms of personalities, not what they do or work. Also, being aggressive does not necessarily accompanied with negative characters. Some characteristics like being smart and funny can make a person likeable, with disregard to what kind of person he really is or what he does in his life. So, I can make my mind to say that the negative, bad, and evil character,Jack Sparrow, has finally impressed me.

Abdullah’s Myth/legend Essay :)

Ancient American Culture

Since the American continent was found, many cultures have existed on it  and left some heritage that reminds us with them. some cultures have already disappeared, and some are still seen at some parts of this continent. One of those surviving cultures is the Indian American culture, also known as Native Americans. This specific culture is considered the most noticeable, and is still presented through festivals and museums all  over the states. Indian Americans have been known with the unique lifestyle, customs and beliefs that they had. Some aspects of their lifestyle will be presented briefly in this essay.

First, history of wars. During the seventeenth century, native Americans have had several wars with Europeans that lasted for decades, trying to survive and maintain their land from invasion of Europeans. One of the legendary warriors they had was Crazy Horse. He was a warrior and leader of a tribe named Lakota Sioux. He was famous of his magnificent battle skills and was the one who has made lots of efforts to preserve Native American traditions and way of life. Native Americans had also some unique collections of hand-made weapons such as small axes and arrowheads that were first made and used by them, not only for wars, but also for hunting animals.

Second, customs and beliefs. One of the things they were famous of was having a medicine man. This was a unique concept that existed in all Native American tribes. Each tribe used to have some certain holy men known as Maya Shamans who were regarded as priests for them. Those holy people would perform some superstitious rituals for the purpose of healing patients from any illness. Another inseparable part of the Native American concept was the Totem Animal. They believed that each human being has a certain animal such as a tiger or a wolf or some other noble beast. Also, sand painting was a noticeable part of their customs. This kind of art used to be conducted with colored sand during ceremonies of harvests as well as healing patients.

Third, celebrations. Dancing was one of the main symbolic practices of Native Indians. One of the most popular dances was the Pow Wow in which they dance around the sacred circle. These dances would be performed on various occasions. For example there would be a big traditional dance celebration every time warriors would come back victorious from their battles.  These dances were basically practical demonstrations of how the fighting took place in the battle ground, so they had to perform those dances to show gratefulness and happiness of what they have achieved.

To conclude this, Indian Americans have had a long history of fighting, whether fighting each other or fighting white people,i.e, Europeans, using simple weapons that are always developed. In addition, they had their own beliefs and customs such as the medicine men and Totem animals that live inside of every human as they have believed. Finally, every culture has its own way of celebration and the Pow Wow dance was the most common performance for Native Americans mainly to show pride and respect to each other.
